Overview Of Biocell Collagen

There has been a lot of hype around collagen and hyaluronic acid over the past decade or so. It is often used as a joint pain reliever and touted for its ability to restore joints to a more youthful state. But can hyaluronic acid and collagen really benefit skin, joints, eyes, nails, and hair like the makers of Biocell Collagen say it can? This and other important questions are what we intend to answer in the following review.

How Does Biocell Collagen Work?

Biocell Collagen is said to work by bathing the joints in hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic has been studied at length for its ability to provide nutrients that the joints need to cushion impact and help fortify the cartilage. It is also claimed that the product works by combining a handful of active ingredients that work in tandem to promote skin and joint health and that only high-quality collagen is used in the production.

Who Is The Manufacturer Of Biocell Collagen?

Biocell Collagen is a brand under the company known as Biocell Technology LLC, located in Irvine, CA. This organization develops and distributes new scientifically-formulated supplementary ingredients. The active components coming from the company are under licensing to producers of finished products.

What Are The Ingredients In Biocell Collagen?

There are really only three active ingredients used to make this product. There is also a small handful of inactive ingredients included to stabilize the actual capsule that houses the active ingredients. Here is a breakdown of the most important components:

Chondroitin Sulfate – Chondroitin sulfate is often regarded as a treatment for arthritis and various types of joint pain. Small studies have found that subjects who used chondroitin for knee pain felt moderate relief. But almost as many test subjects said they felt no difference at all.
Hyaluronic Acid – Hyaluronic acid is a natural component found in synovial fluid and cartilage. Hyaluronic acid has shown much promise in reducing the inflammation that typically occurs during osteoarthritis.
Hydrolyzed Collagen II — Hydrolyzed collagen II was studied in a double-blind placebo-controlled study that observed the effects it had on test subjects for 90 days. The test concluded that the group given hydrolyzed collagen showed an improvement in water retention[1] in the skin. However, the improvement was not significant over the placebo group.
Gelatin — It is derived from animal products and plants. Collagen exists in gelatin. It is used for managing arthritis[2] disorders and osteoporosis.

  • This product may provide joint support
  • It may also help the skin retain more moisture
  • It may be able to reduce joint inflammation
  • It is possible that this product can help repair some minor damage done in your joints

  • Chondroitin may also cause heartburn in some users
  • This product may result in some mild headaches
  • You may have to take this product for an extended period before you start to see any benefit

Final Words

In our opinion, the jury still remains out on this product. While the ingredients like hyaluronic acid and collagen have been observed to make marginal improvements to skin and joint conditions, there is little scientific evidence that suggests that Biocell Collagen can do everything the manufacturers say it can do – especially the claim that it can improve eye health. Still, if you are suffering from minor joint and skin problems, there is enough evidence to suggest that Biocell Collagen may be helpful for you. Just don’t expect it to be a miracle worker and check out other products as well. Before taking it, do talk to your doctor first.

    I hope these benefits continue!
This product has relieved joint pain all over my body, including the hip pain from an injury two years ago. It took about 35 days to reach that point so don’t give up too soon when trying this product. I hope these benefits continue!
