Maximum Edge is a dietary supplement targeted toward males looking to boost their testosterone and optimize their sexual performance. According to the official Maximum Edge website, the product’s ingredients work together to increase testosterone production, reduce stress, improve blood supply to the penis, and boost sexual pleasure.
Maximum Edge Review – Health Web Magazine Images
How Does Maximum Edge Work?
Maximum Edge contains two unique ingredient technologies: “TestXT Free Testosterone Complex” and “N.O. Pro Boost Complex.” The TestXT Complex provides “unparalleled” testosterone-boosting action, while the N.O. Complex enhances nitric oxide (NO) production, which improves blood flow to the penis. The manufacturer says you can expect better erection quality and enhanced sexual pleasure after taking Maximum Edge’s patent-pending technologies.
Who Is The Manufacturer Of Maximum Edge
The manufacturer of Maximum Edge is “Maximum Supplements for Men.” There is limited information regarding production processes and ingredient sourcing for this product. According to the official Maximum Edge website, the formulation is FDA-compliant and made in CGMP-accredited labs in the United States.
Considering this product contains herbs that are potentially sourced internationally, it would be helpful if the manufacturer provided customers with a certificate of analysis (COA). This would ensure the product is free of harmful contaminants and contains clinically significant dosages.
What Are The Ingredients In Maximum Edge?
You can visit Maximum Edge’s website for a full list of the product’s ingredients.
Longjack – Longjack is also referred to as Tongkat Ali. A meta-analysis[1] of clinical trials found that supplementing with longjack significantly improved serum testosterone levels in healthy and hypogonadal men. Hypogonadism is a condition in which the testes don’t produce sufficient testosterone levels.
Fenugreek – In a clinical study[2], healthy men who supplemented with fenugreek for 12 weeks demonstrated reductions in Aging Male Symptom (AMS) scores. These men also showed improvements in sexual function and testosterone levels.
Ashwagandha – In a recent study[3], men with low libido who took Ashwagandha for eight weeks demonstrated significant increases in sexual function scores and serum testosterone levels. Part of Ashwagandha’s ability to improve sexual function is likely due to its anxiolytic properties.
Zinc – Research[4] shows medicinal doses of zinc can increase testosterone and sperm production. However, zinc may not be effective for all types of hypogonadism where surgery or pharmaceutical drugs are needed.
Magnesium – A study[5] in 2011 showed that magnesium supplementation can increase testosterone levels. Testosterone synthesis was further optimized by pairing magnesium supplementation with resistance training.
Vitamin B6 – Vitamin B6 can reduce prolactin levels in the body. Excessive prolactin production can induce hypogonadism.[6] Besides this correlation, there is limited research on vitamin B6 supplementation and testosterone production for erectile dysfunction.
L-Arginine – L-arginine is a precursor to NO, which helps relax muscles and improves blood flow to the penile artery. Research[7] shows positive evidence for L-arginine supplementation and improvements in erectile dysfunction. However, we need clinical studies with larger sample sizes before scientists reach a consensus on its recommendation and dosing for male sexual health.
Tribulus Terrestris – In a double-blind and placebo-controlled trial[8], patients taking a Tribulus terrestris extract demonstrated significant improvements in erectile function, intercourse satisfaction, orgasmic function, and sexual desire.
Horny Goat Weed – Traditional Chinese Medicine has utilized Horny Goat Weed for erectile dysfunction for centuries. There is limited evidence of its efficacy in humans. However, a study[9] on rats showed that a Horny Goat Weed extract helped improve intracavernous pressure and mean arterial pressure of the cavernous nerve, which is responsible for penile erection. Horny Goat Weed extract also improved neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS).
Maca – Currently, there is minimal evidence of Maca’s benefit for male sexual health. A medical review[10] of more minor, primary studies found that Maca may help increase sexual desire. We need more robust studies with larger sample sizes before drawing any conclusions about this herb.
Butea Superba – Butea Superba is a shrub native to Southeast Asia. An older study[11] on patients with erectile dysfunction found that treatment with Butea Superba improved symptoms of erectile dysfunction.
Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa – Xanthoparmelia Scabrosa is an herbal extract used to treat sexual dysfunction. There is little to no evidence of its efficacy in human clinical trials. Some researchers warn against its use due to potentially toxic chemical compounds.
Damiana – Research[12] on rats shows that Damiana may possess flavonoids that give it a “pro-sexual” effect. Currently, research is limited to animal studies. We need more robust research on humans.
L-Citrulline – Like L-arginine, L-citrulline is a precursor to NO. In one study[13], men with mild erectile dysfunction took L-citrulline daily for one month and demonstrated moderate improvements in erection hardness and intercourse frequency. Although there are more effective treatments for erectile dysfunction, L-citrulline could be an adjunct therapy.
Saw Palmetto – The existing scientific literature surrounding saw palmetto for erectile dysfunction is mixed. Some research[14] deems it ineffective and potentially harmful to sexual function in the long term. Other research[15] suggests it has potential for treating urological disorders and erectile dysfunction.
Muira Puama – Muira Puama is a bush native to the Amazon rainforest. Some research[16] suggests Muira Puama may improve sexual dysfunction and desire. However, in most studies, Muira Puama is paired with other aphrodisiacs, meaning improvements in sexual function can’t be attributed to Muira Puama alone.
Rhodiola – There is limited evidence of Rhodiola’s ability to improve sexual function. It may improve sexual function by reducing stress levels. A medical review[17] showed Rhodiola possesses neuroprotective and stress-reducing properties. This herb may also improve endurance and reproductive health.
